Steve Duffy, MD, FACS

Steve Duffy MD, FACS, is a board certified surgeon and founder of Advanced Surgical of North Texas. Having grown up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Dr. Duffy is honored to serve the neighboring community of McKinney, Texas.

After attending the University of Texas at Dallas for his undergraduate and graduate education, Dr. Duffy earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating with honors. He went on to complete his surgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio earning numerous leadership and academic awards.

Dr. Duffy served in the military for 13 years and returned to civilian life as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his service he completed tours in Afghanistan and multiple humanitarian missions.

He performs a wide range of procedures, including advanced hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal, endocrine and GI surgery among others.

Dr. Duffy is married to his high school sweetheart, he and his wife are proud parents of a beautiful daughter.

Chris Cottrell, MD, FACS

General surgeon Chris Cottrell, MD, FACS, is honored to be a member of the team at Advanced Surgical of North Texas. As one of the only surgeons in the area to perform the transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) procedure for acid reflux, Dr. Cottrell is pleased to bring his advanced skills and experience to patients living in and around McKinney, Texas.

After growing up in Houston and San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Cottrell received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from medical school near the top of his class and went on to complete his general surgery residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where he was named outstanding resident of the year.

After practicing in North Platte, Nebraska, for a time, Dr. Cottrell soon realized that Texas was his home. He returned in 2005, and has since worked in various locations, including Garland, Rowlett, and Rockwall, Texas. He served twice as Chief of Staff at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lake Pointe and also chaired the credentials committee for four years.

Dr. Cottrell’s medical interests include reflux surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, including the use of the da Vinci® Surgical System.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Cottrell enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and anything with a microchip.

Elizabeth Rogers, MD

Elizabeth Rogers is a board-certified General Surgeon who joined Advanced Surgical of North Texas in August 2021. Originally from Florida, she completed her undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University. She attended medical school at the University of South Florida then moved to Texas in 2016 for General Surgery residency at UT Health in San Antonio. She graduated in the Spring of 2021 with an award for outstanding clinical excellence.

Her areas of interest include the breadth of general surgery and she performs minimally invasive and robotic abdominal surgeries.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.

Amy Noroozian, MPAS, PA-C

Amy Noroozian joined our practice in the fall of 2016 as a physician assistant. She completed her undergraduate education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA before completing PA school at UTMB in Galveston, TX. She has valuable past experience in both spine surgery and family medicine. Originally from Arizona, she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time in the outdoors with her golden retriever.

Phuong Cao, PA-C

Phuong Cao was born and raised in the Dallas area. She attended Baylor University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She completed PA school at South University in Richmond, Virginia and returned back home to Dallas to start her career as a Physician Assistant. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, trying new foods, hiking, and traveling.
